Overview

Introduction

ZERO is a social operating system that protects your sovereign digital rights. It is 100% owned, operated and governed by its Citizens. A ZERO Citizen is wallet that holds a sovereign domain on the ZERO Name Service protocol.

ZERO is a alternative to legacy messaging apps, social networks and financial institutions. You can use it to start anything from a group chat with friends, to your own community, guild, organization or network-state.

Principles

ZERO is designed with five core principles:

  1. Sovereignty -> Individual and collective ownership of digital property.

  2. Decentralization -> Collective decision-making, network operation and processing with no central point of failure.

  3. Privacy -> Strong personal data privacy with end-to-end encryption.

  4. Censorship-Resistance -> No possibility for third-party censorship or intervention between users and their data.

  5. Open Source -> All code is freely accessible, can be reused and commercialized without permission under the MIT license

Core Protocols

ZERO is built using 4 interoperable systems:

  1. Z NS: A smart contract protocol that enables decentralized global unique identity, indexing, and routing.

  2. Z XP: A smart contract protocol for designing novel game, reputation, governance and incentive landscapes.

  3. Z DAO: A smart contract protocol for launching, managing, and participating in a network of DAOs.

  4. ZODE: A distributed network protocol for incentivizing the operation of ZERO computing services.
